Update

Hi there,

It has been quite a while since I have made a post. Between preparing for our wedding and work getting a bit hectic, I haven't found time to set aside to post in a bit. But I thought I should drop a quick update on how life has been.

As I said, I am preparing for our wedding, and it has gone so well! I have noticed that I tend to measure my time in treatments. Okay, I know that sounds odd, so let me explain. For me, Remicade treatments happen every eight weeks. Thus, it has been a great little reference point on how close my wedding is. I am down to one more treatment before my wedding! That just makes it seem so real and so very close. I have had a blast with all of the wedding preparations. But I have also been grateful that we gave ourselves so much time to prepare for the big day. With having continued treatments, I found myself down periodically for several days, unable to do much in regards to decorations and planning. So having so many months has been a blessing. Anyone who has had a wedding, or even been a part of one, knows just how much work goes into such an event. Then anyone who has a chronic illness also knows how tiring that can be on a daily basis just to keep up with regular life. You add both together, and thats a whole new ballgame. But to be completely honest with you, I have loved preparing for the wedding itself. I know that that is not what marriage is about, but the wedding process itself has been fairly low stress and a complete blast! I am super into doing crafts and such, as well as finding good deals on items I want, which has made this whole process very fun and low stress for me. I have been tired here and there, but it has been so worth it.

As if getting married and managing a chronic illness wasn't enough, I also have work craziness on my plate. I generally don't work a ton of hours in a week, but with working in a restaurant, I make tips that compensate. Well, quite suddenly we had quite a few workers move on to other opportunities, including the majority of the host staff. Which meant lots of extra hours for me. Don't get me wrong, extra hours is fantastic! But when you go from working three or four shifts a week to working six days a week and often pulling doubles its a lot to take on so suddenly. Then I also got promoted to server right before the host staff depleted, but with us being down so many hosts, I had to wait until we trained in new hosts in order for me to be able to start my training as a server. It has been a wild process, but to my surprise it has been a smooth one (for the most part).

I think at this point, both Ryan and I are looking forward to our Honeymoon to get away and relax after all of this. We are at the point that, while we are excited for the wedding, we are just ready for it to be here and to be taking the next step in our lives together. And one of the first steps together as a couple is to go on our Honeymoon vacation. To get away and not have to worry about my next treatment, or how our next work shift will go, or if we have everything ready for the big day.
